Road Hedge Hog
A bid to avoid a hedgehog proved costly for this Ferrari testarossa driver after he swerved out of control and smashed into the crash barrier on the B64 at Eschershausen in Lower Saxony in Germany.
53-year-old businessman Joerg Daecher had been travelling home when he spotted the hedgehog in the headlights and swerved to avoid running the animal over.
The driver told police that the car had spun out of control after he stayed out of the way of the animal, slipping on leaves on the road as it passed through a wooded area.
The hedgehog escaped unhurt, which was more than can be said for the sports car that cost 85,000 pounds when new.
The driver was also unhurt.
