Swedish Windsurfing Record
A pair of Swedes have windsurfed from their country to Germany in less than five hours.
Johan Ekstedt and Markus Robčrt are claiming a world record after hitting the waves at 5.00am on Sunday in Sweden to emerge on a German beach in time for a late breakfast.
"It wasn’t easy and it was a very different challenge, but we’re really happy we made it," Ekstedt told local press.
"We got off to a flying start and the winds were perfect, but when we were 17 nautical miles from Germany's northernmost cape, the wind died down and it was gruelling work," he said.
In all it took them 4 hours and 25 minutes for the 55 mile voyage.
