Ski resort boss Mario Schmidger, 43, has sold his entire business to new owners in Fluehli in the canton of Lucerne, Switzerland, for just one Swiss Franc.
"We want to make it easier for the new owners to start up," said Schmidger, who said the new owners have promised to keep it open for 10 years.
The sale included ski lifts, nursery slopes and two brand new piste smoothing machines costing over 40,000 GBP each.
The Thorbach-Blasenegg ski resort that is 1,200 meters above sea level will open again this winter.
Local hotel boss Martin Egler, 54, said: "The deal will guarantee tourism in the region, it was a major loss when it was forced to close half way through last season."
