Workers in Germany are the loyalest in Europe and the least likely to quit their job for a new one, a study of working life has revealed.
An average German worker will stay in a job for 11 years before moving on, the survey by the country's Institute for Employee Research has shown.
Even the credit crunch and the rise of fixed term employee contracts hasn't dented employees' loyalty, says study spokesman Thomas Rhein.
"Job hopping is not a phenomenon that affects most employers," he said.
The study says high wages and good career development opportunities are the main reasons for staying in a job.
