A sex shop owner who got round early closing laws by fitting a petrol pump in his car park and re-registering as a service station has been sued by Town Hall officials in Germany.
The pump allowed owner Volcker Rudiger to keep the shop in Ingolstadt open 24-hours a day selling sex toys, porn films and kinky S&M equipment.
But officials claim it was simply a ruse and say Rudiger, 48, must return to being a sex shop with a six pm closing time.
The court heard that the fuel was so expensive it was never sold and when the trial judge visited the shop, the pump wasn't even working.
He said: "It was hidden from view, not advertised, most cars would be unable to reach it and it was only filled up with heating oil - nobody would be in any doubt that this was not a petrol station."
Ordering Rudiger to give up his petrol station licence, the judge added: "No-one who visits the site can be in any doubt that they are looking at an erotic shop and not a petrol station."
The shop owner says he will appeal the decision, allowing him to continue for now with the garage opening hours.
